On the eve of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Ranchi played host to the electrifying launch of the CyberPeace Jharkhand Esports League 3.0 — a strategic esports initiative designed to scout and train young Indian talent for the Esports Olympics 2027, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Organized by CyberPeace, a global nonprofit focused on cyber resilience and online safety, the third edition of the Jharkhand Esports League brought together a diverse pool of gamers across the state to compete in popular titles like FIFA Showdown and Free Fire Arena.
The event was held on May 17 at Level 7, Akash Complex, Doranda, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and was graced by Utkarsh Kumar, SDM Ranchi, and Mahesh Poddar, former Rajya Sabha MP, who delivered a keynote on “Responsible Content Creation and Gaming.” He stressed the urgent need for stronger cybercrime laws and greater public awareness to safeguard India’s digital citizens.
More than just a competition, the CyberPeace League acted as a bootcamp, helping players develop skills aligned with international esports standards. It’s part of a broader effort to create an esports talent pipeline that could represent India at the highest level, including the upcoming Esports Olympics.
“Esports is more than just gaming; it’s about discipline, strategy, team building, and digital excellence,” said Vineet Kumar, Founder and Global President of CyberPeace. “With the Olympics embracing esports in 2027, this league is a stepping stone to ensure our youth are trained, equipped, and inspired to represent India on the global stage.”
