In a symbolic nod to India’s resilience and cultural identity, the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) has unveiled the official jersey for Team India ahead of the BRICS Esports Championship 2025, set to take place in Moscow from May 31 to June 1.
The jersey, worn by India’s Tekken 8 representatives Gurashish “Soul” Singh and Shubham Khorwal, features a striking Sindoor red stripe running down the center—a tribute to the sindoor traditionally worn by married Indian women, symbolizing sacrifice, strength, and continuity. Complementing the design is a camouflage pattern, paying homage to the Indian Armed Forces, reinforcing themes of discipline, vigilance, and valor.
“This jersey embodies the spirit of Operation Sindoor—a powerful symbol of India’s fight against terrorism. It’s not just a uniform; it’s a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our Armed Forces,” said Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI. “As our athletes compete on the global stage, they carry the hopes of a united and fearless Bharat.”
- Gurashish “Soul” Singh – Winner of the national qualifier, defeating BRICS 2024 silver medalist Wasfi in the final.
- Shubham Khorwal – Fourth-place finisher at BRICS 2024, returning with renewed determination.
The championship will take place at VK Play Arena, featuring top athletes from BRICS nations. The unveiling of this jersey not only marks India’s growing footprint in global esports but also serves as a patriotic statement blending tradition with modern digital combat.
