India achieved a historic milestone by securing its first international gold medals in esports at the inaugural WAVES Esports Championship (WESC) held at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. The golds were won by Danial “DaNiAL” Patel in eFootball and Tejaskumar Hasmukhbhai Bhoi in World Cricket Championship 3 (WCC3).

Organized by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI), WESC brought together national champions from five countries—Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Sri Lanka, and Nepal—to compete in two esports titles, showcasing top-level competition on home soil.
⚽ DaNiAL’s Dominance in eFootball:
DaNiAL secured the title with a 2-0 victory over Malaysia’s Mohamad Azrudin Bin Yaacob in the final. Earlier, he defeated Laos’ Southiphone Singthong 5-3 and Thailand’s Nathawat Satake 2-1. Reflecting on his win, DaNiAL said:
“Winning the international leg of WAVES was an unforgettable experience. Competing on a global stage pushed me beyond my limits.”
🏏 Tejaskumar’s Unbeaten Run in WCC3:
Tejas remained undefeated throughout the tournament, overcoming Sri Lanka’s Mohamad Shaad Mohamad Uvaiz and Nepal’s Rajat Budathoki in round-robin and final stages. He shared:
