India’s longest-running homegrown esports tournament, the Skyesports Championship, is back with its sixth edition, featuring Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and a massive ₹40 lakh prize pool. This year’s championship introduces an innovative format that raises the competitive intensity:
- Day 1 – Sky Surge (May 17): 16 finalist teams battle across 6 maps to reach a Sky Champ threshold of 66 points.
- Day 2 – Sky Champ Rule (May 18): The first team to hit 66 points must then secure a Chicken Dinner to win the title. If no team accomplishes this within 8 maps, the team with the highest points takes the crown.
This high-risk, high-reward format encourages aggressive gameplay while introducing tactical depth, as teams will aim to both reach and block opponents nearing the Sky Champ goal.
- Upper Bracket (May 6–9): 16 teams compete; Top 8 qualify directly for the Grand Finals, bottom 8 move to the Last Chance Qualifier.
- Last Chance Qualifier (May 10–12): 16 teams (8 from Upper Bracket + 8 from Lower Bracket) battle for remaining 8 Grand Final spots.
- Grand Finals (May 17–18): The final 16 teams compete for BGMI supremacy under the new Sky Champ format.
